Day 3 Hitting the road – Atlanta to Nashville via Lynchburg

Bucket List Travels – Day 3 Hitting the road to Nashville. Wednesday 1st August.

Things didn’t go completely to plan today, but there’s always Plan B!
Set off from Atlanta at 10am en route to Lynchburg for our visit to the Jack Daniels Distillery, we’d intended to arrive around 1, have lunch & a walk around the town. But the Rain had other plans & a few accidents (not us) delayed us. Arrived around 2.15 for 3pm tour. Bear in mind I’m not a whiskey lover, but this is a year of “firsts”so we booked The Flight of Jack tour which includes tasting. Our guide John T was not only informative but extremely funny! And then to the tasting – what can i say, well its never going to be my preferred drink of choice but i did like the Honey one & Fire one, even nicer when mixed together. Quick mooch around the town square & the obligatory purchase of a fridge magnet, then back on our travels to Nashville(first)

Staying in the Fiddlers Inn, basic typical 2 storey American Motel/Hotel.($174 for 2 nights – we’re all sharing to keep costs down). Quick freshen up then out for a late tea & a few beers. Decided to stay local rather than heading into the centre of nashville. Drink in the Music City Bar then across to the Scoreboard bar for more drinks & food. Blackened Catfish for me, the others had Classic American Burger on Rye, Fried Pickles, Pulled Pork & Coconut Shrimp – 4 meals, 2 extra sides, 2 buckets of bottles (6 per bucket) & a Sprite $99. Live music in both bars. 2 minute walk back to the hotel & fast asleep in 5!!. Only a few pics from my phone as i mainly used my main camera today – I’ll probably edit the post once I’m home to add more.
